Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one time and without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual will have you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will show you exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs are required, such as emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and clean around them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and vice versa. good robot vacuum can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's intelligent features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an ideal choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It has several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature of its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There's a plethora of options available that include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
